Post Video Presentation

The editing has been done and we have watched the video with the class. To say they least I didn’t think anyone would like it but we got amazing live feedback while the video was playing.

I enjoyed the rubric grading system, it was nice to be able to give feedback on other people’s work and see what a lecturer has to do with all of our work.

The video overall was very funny and it’s all thanks to the magic green screen. Gavin and Sean were the main stars in the video as I preferred not to be in it! I filmed most of the clips and helped set up the green screen. Setting up a green screen isn’t actually as easy as it seems. The surface of the fabric has to be as flat as possible and behind the person has to be well lit so the the shadow doesn’t affect the quality.
Overall I really enjoyed making the video for this mission. If I was to change anything if I was to do this again I would attempt to be in the video and push myself out of my comfort zone.

Thanks for reading!

Making of the Video

Filming has commenced and we are very excited to be using a green screen for this video! We went with Mapping in the end and after brainstorming loads of ideas we came to the conclusion that the concept behind our video is to map out how 1916 is connected to Brexit. The idea is not at all meant to be serious as you will see but we thought a more satirical video would catch the attention of the class as they will be marking it with a rubric system.

Above is our brainstorm map for how each little thing links with the next so that you can get from 1916 to Brexit. There’s some ideas that we put in specifically for the class to understand so it wouldn’t be too boring. (even though the whole thing is a joke really) For example the Epstein didn’t kill himself part is a meme trending online recently.

I can not wait to finish the video completely and see what it’s like after the final edit.

The Final Mission

The time has arrived! We are finally on the last mission for Intro to Digital Media. For this mission we have to create a video in groups of three. The tag for this mission is methodology, I'm not quit sure what that means but I hope I will get it by the end of the mission.

I'm not too sure what to choose from the list of subjects but mapping and networks look appealing to me. One is very old-fashioned and the other is very modern and technology based. I would like to produce a well done video that is clear on the subject and easy to follow along. Working with people in other groups could pose to be a challenge for this mission due to difference in timetables. I hope it won't interrupt the process too much.

For shooting the video Gavin has a 4k camera which will be perfect for filming the video. We all have access to the Adobe programmes here in college but Gavin also has it on his computer at home. That will come in very handy if we need to make some last minute edits to the video and can't access the Mac Labs in college.
We were thinking of using a green screen for the video to add in a background and make the video either more professional or make it more funny. We will see how that goes in the end product but I hope it doesn't ruin the video.
